W. J. (Bill) Wood, R.I.B. (Ont.)  is our president, and the founder of W. J. Wood Brokers Ltd.  Bill jumped into the insurance world feet first in 1965 with the purchase of this brokerage.  Behind his desk everyday to answer his client’s insurance concerns, Bill is a new and classic car enthusiast, but most enjoys spending free time with his grandchildren.

Heather Wood, R.I.B. (Ont.) (Bill's wife), joined us in 1987, and obtained her insurance license in 2002.  She provides outstanding customer service to our clients.  In her spare time Heather enjoys nursing all things botanical, cooking, and being with her grandchildren.

Robbie Wood, R.I.B. (Ont.), B. Com, CGA (Bill's son) is a Bachelor of Commerce, a CGA and a Registered Insurance Broker.    Officially the office accountant and manager, Robbie spends many long hours fixing, tweaking, and upgrading our computers.  In his spare time he enjoys boating and waterskiing, model railroading, and cars — studying new models, classics, and antiques.  He’s also a member of the Smiths Falls District Collegiate Institute Reunion Band, and his musical talents extend to the saxophone, piano, organ and accordion. He has been with us since 1987.

Cathy Wood, R.I.B. (Ont.) CIP (Robbie’s wife) ‘married into’ the business in 1998, while working on her diploma in Business–Insurance at Algonquin College. After going on to obtain her Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP), Cathy became responsible for personal & commercial insurance sales, and the office’s coffee situation.     After hours Cathy enjoys hanging out with her nieces and anything that involves making a big mess in pursuit of creating something beautiful.

Wilda Porter, R.I.B. (Ont.), CAIB, CIP, joined us in 2007.  Providing excellent customer service, Wilda is no stranger to the insurance industry: she first obtained her insurance broker license in 1976, going on to attain both her Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) and Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designations.       Always busy, Wilda enjoys crocheting, genealogy study, and crafts… but most of all, time spent chatting with her many good friends.

Virginia Avery, R.I.B. (Ont.), B Com is a Bachelor of Commerce, and obtained her insurance license in 2007.  Virginia is taking courses towards her Chartered Insurance Professional designation and provides first-rate customer service to our growing clientele.   Virginia enjoys travel, literature, time spent with her family, and pampering her Pekinese puppy.

Howard House, R.I.B. (Ont.) is a Registered Insurance Broker.  Howard is responsible for personal & commercial insurance sales.  Howard joined us in 2006 and is working on his Chartered Insurance Professional designation while balancing his love for travel (especially to Eastern Canada).   Occasionally limping into the office the morning following a rough hockey game, Howard enjoys a wide variety of sports.

Janice Dods is a Registered Insurance Broker, responsible for personal lines sales. Janice unwinds with her black lab Madison, running the trails near her home.

Jenny Davis is our friendly receptionist. Between client visits and telephone calls she keeps our digital file imaging system up to date. She is an avid puppeteer in her off hours, and enjoys travel and the arts.

Chamois (Shammy) is the office mascot, and excels at greeting customers and entertaining their children. The rest of her time is spent at Cathy’s feet – sleeping the day away.
